Brasil NEXT40: the low environmental impact calcio boot created to celebrate its 40th anniversary. From the history of calcio to a new, more sustainable way of playing.
This model made its debut forty years ago, in 1984. The player for whom the boot was named was one of the first calcio champions to choose black-and-white boots instead of the traditional all-black. It continues its story characterized by innovation and novelty by becoming our first recycled and eco-friendly calcio boot.
The upper is composed of:
- 48% Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certified recycled cotton
- 25% polyurethane from renewable sources
- 26% certified recycled polyamide.
This material, composed by these three different components, was carefully designed to make the boot more sustainable and it presents advanced mechanical properties. It was specifically created for Diadora.
The outsole is made from 30% recycled polyurethane, supplied by a GRS-certified component supplier. As an international and voluntary standard, GRS applies to the full supply chain and addresses traceability, environmental principles, social requirements and chemical content.
The insole is made of 60% recycled polyurethane foam, 10% recycled polyester fabric, and 0.11% recycled rubber. It is removable and therefore easy to replace in case of wear, a feature added to increase the longevity of the boot. The insole is also supplied by a GRS-certified component supplier. The lining is made of recycled polyester, as are the laces, which are made of 99% post-consumer recycled polyester.
The Brasil NEXT40 is not only an evolution in style and performance – it is also a meaningful step toward a more conscious approach to the game, reflecting Diadora’s aim for a more sustainable future for its products.
